We are pleased to cooperate with the HR manager and mediator Ms. Ass. jur. Sabine B. Sturm, who has been working in HR management and consulting in the business and labour world for more than 20 years. Ms Sabine Sturm was able to gain her many years of experience through her work at “Stahlgruber GmbH”, not least as Head of HR Management (also integrated into LKQ Corporation/ LKQ Europe since 2018). PRACTICE GUIDE ON COPYRIGHT CONTRACT LAW BERGER WÜNDISCH

We are pleased to announce the publication of the new edition of the helpful practice guide on copyright contract law (“Urhebervertragsrecht”) edited by Prof. Dr. Christian Berger and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Wündisch. Lawyer Dr. von Eggelkraut-Gottanka is a co-author and writes about design contracts and contracts on photography. The 3rd edition was published in January 2022.

EUGH ANNULS EU COMMISSION DECISION ON GEOBLOCKING IN PAY-TV

In Case C-132/19 P, the ECJ has annulled the EU Commission's decision declaring the commitments of Paramount Pictures International Ltd on so-called geoblocking legally binding. This was announced by the court in a press release (No. 157/2020 of 09.12.2020).

NEW JUDGMENT ON THE PROTECTION OF SPORTS DATA

The Racing Partnership Ltd vs Sports Information Services Ltd, judgment of the Court of Appeal, Civil Division of 09.10.2020: Today we would like to draw your attention to a noteworthy judgment of 09.10.2020 of the Court of Appeals (UK) in relation to the protection of sports data, based on a dispute between The Racing Partnership (TRP) and the Sports Information Service (SIS).

BUNDESLIGA TV RIGHTS AWARD AS OF 2020/21

The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has once again surpassed the billion-euro mark in the award of German-language media rights, thus continuing the revenue level of previous years. For the 2021/22 to 2024/25 seasons, the clubs can expect revenues averaging EUR 1.1 billion. This corresponds to total revenues of EUR 4.4 billion.
